Evening

Medium: Oil on canvas
Size: 12 × 24 cm
Year: 2026

In her 2026 work "Evening", Olga Trikhleb captures a transitional moment of the day in a vertical format of 12 × 24 cm. Oil on canvas conveys the soft texture of the primer, through which the weave of the fabric shows. The composition is built on the diagonal movement of a dirt road receding into the depth of the space through thickets of tall grass and reeds. The middle ground is enveloped in a dense veil of fog, from which the silhouette of a solitary building emerges. The upper part of the canvas is occupied by the sunset sky: warm yellow light smoothly transitions into lilac and pink shades, above which the silhouette of a distant forest stretches in a dark strip. The restrained palette and balanced brushstrokes create a calm, contemplative atmosphere.
